RedPower World adds some new things to the Minecraft world generator.

Sickle

The Sickle is a tool that harvests every small plant (tall grass, flowers, wheat, etc.) in a square of 5 by 5 blocks. it is very useful for grass-cutting or looking for seeds.

As of PR6, the sickle will now also trim the leaves from trees.

Structures

Volcanoes

You can find volcanoes in the landscape when you have RedPower World installed. They are made from Basalt and they have lava source blocks in the center from top to bottom. At the top, the lava flows over.
Destroying basalt gives you a basalt cobblestone. It can be smelted back to basalt wich can be used to craft basalt bricks.

Marble caves

Marble caves are normal caves except they are not made from stone, they have marble instead. Marble can be used to craft marble bricks.

Plants

Rubber tree

Rubber trees can be found in jungle biomes. they consist of rubber wood (which cannot be crafted into wood - each block of rubber wood can be crafted to eight sticks) and special leaves.

Rubber trees are very huge and at the bottom they are three blocks thick.

Flax

Flax is a new farming feature in RedPower. Flax seeds can be harvested from tall grass (and from flax plants, of course).
Flax seeds can only be planted on Hydrated soil (although as of PR6 this no longer appears to be true). It grows up to a height of two blocks; it should then be harvested for full gain.
Harvesting flax gives you strings (vanilla-item) and new flax seeds. These can be used to plant new flax plants or for making paint in paint cans.

Indigo Flower

!s

The indigo flower is a flower which can be crafted into indigo dye, a blue dye that can be substituted for lapis lazuli in many dying operations. The Indigo Dye is used in creating Blank Plans.

Ores

All ores including the gems are registered in the forge ore dictionary, so you can use them also within all other mods which make use of it (e.g. IC2, Gregtech, ThermalExpansion, UniversalElectricity) and you can use their metals for Redpower as well.
The generation of copper, tin and silver can be switched off via the config-file.

Ruby Ore

Ruby ore drops one ruby on destroying wich can be used to craft tools or weapons. They are better than iron tools (faster, more durable) but worse than diamond tools (cannot break obsidian).

Green Sapphire (was Emerald) Ore

Green sapphire ore drops one green sapphire on destroying which can be used to craft tools or weapons. They are better than iron tools (faster, more durable) but worse than diamond tools (cannot break obsidian).
Note: prior to PR6 the Green Sapphire was called emerald, but after Minecraft introduced its own emerald in 12w21a, it was necessary to rename the RP emerald to avoid confusion.

Sapphire Ore

Sapphire ore drops one sapphire on destroying wich can be used to craft tools or weapons. They are better than iron tools (faster, more durable) but worse than diamond tools (cannot break obsidian).

Tin Ore

Tin Ore can be found very often. By smelting it in the furnace you get tin ingots. They are used for a lot of different crafting and alloy-smelting reciepes.

Copper Ore

Copper Ore can be found very often. By smelting it in the furnace you get copper ingots. They are used for a lot of different crafting and alloy-smelting reciepes.

Silver Ore

Silver Ore can be found as often slightly more often than gold ore. By smelting it in the furnace you get silver ingots. It is used for making blue alloy.

Nikolite Ore

Nikolite ore gives you 4-5 nikolite on harvesting. It is the blutricity-conducting equivalent of redstone except it does not glow on touching it and the dust is not placeable on the ground.

Tungsten Ore

Tungsten ore has no use yet, but will have one eventually. "Stock up on your Tungsten, you'll be glad you did." - Eloraam's EAQ, "Does [material] have a use?"
